After more than two years of study I have started the dissertation phase of my Master of Science in Project Management at the University of Liverpool, through Laureate Online Education. My research topic will be concerned with what I regard as the unacceptably high level of IT project failure that seems to persist in both the public and private sectors. I’m not interested in the well-documented reasons for project failure per se but, rather, the apparently paradoxical phenomenon of organisations seemingly failing to learn from previous experience.
